NDSU NEW GREENHOUSE FACILITY

After considerable research, plans have been finalized for a new greenhouse facility at NDSU. This complex will be in addition to current greenhouse facilities and will provide a modern state-of-the-art facility to advance current research capabilities and enhance student training and education at NDSU. The facility is to be located off 12th Ave N, on 18th Street, opposite the Student Living Learning Center. Groundbreaking is anticipated as early as May 2008. The North Dakota Legislature has provided $9 million in state funding with a mandate for NDSU to raise an additional $5 million to complete Phase 1. This phase includes full support and service areas for more than 30 greenhouse research rooms with the potential expansion of between 15 to 30 research rooms in Phase 2, as funds permit. The overall plan is to complete a $25-$30 million facility that will serve our scientists, students and stakeholders well into this century.
