About NDAES

Mission

The North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station develops and disseminates technology important to the production and utilization of food, feed, fiber and fuel from crop and livestock enterprises. Its research enhances the quality of life, sustainability of production and protection of the environment.

To do this effectively researchers in the 9 Departments and 2 Schools within the NDSU College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources work on basic and advanced research connected in these areas.

These departments work interactively with the 8 Research Extension Centers strategically placed through-out the state to develop techniques and technology for North Dakota , the nation and the rest of the world.

“For the Land and its People”

This six-word motto, while on the surface a rather straightforward statement, has far-reaching implications.

The opportunity for NDSU AES to help solve the ongoing problems the state faces in economic development, crop and livestock production, value-added activities, and others that we are beginning to address, such as agro-tourism, food safety, and biosecurity, provides an important challenge to our faculty and staff.

We, at the NDSU Main Station in Fargo and the Research Extension Centers throughout the state, are committed to develop information, technology, and products that will allow North Dakotans to succeed in this new century.
