2015 Ransom County Events

There are many Extension Related events and 4-H events scheduled.  Visit the Extension Events page and 4-H page frequently for up-to-date information on events.

2015 Farm Expo
Join us at the 2015 Farm Expo on Tuesday, February 3 at the Ransom County Expo Center in Lisbon.  Doors will open at 8 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m.  There will be agricultural booths as well as home and health vendors available all day.  A complete schedule is available. . .

Succession Planning Workshop for Farm & Ranch Families
This program is for families interested in shaping the future ownership of the family farm or ranch – the family legacy – whether that be transferring a viable business to the next generation or determining how to divide farm/ranch assets.   The workshop has been rescheduled for February 5 and 12 at the Enderlin Fire Hall.  More information and registration forms will be available soon.

Private Applicator Pesticide Training
Producers who wish to obtain a Private Applicator Certification for the first time or who need to re-certify can attend one of the trainings in either Lisbon or Enderlin.  Available training dates and details . . .

Southeast Judging Classic
The 4-H and FFA Southeast Judging Classic will be held on February 21 at the Lisbon High School.  Contests held will be Livestock Judging, Crop Judging, Hippology, Small Animal Care and Ag. Sales.  More information and registration forms . . .

Agriculturalist of the Year

The annual banquet was held on Friday, March 27, 2015.  Nominations are due February 1 to either AgCountry Farm Credit Services at (701) 683-4172, or the Ransom County Extension Service at (701) 683-6128.

Businesses can purchase a membership for $50 which gives them advertising on the banquet place mat and tickets for two meals.
Individuals
can purchase a ticket for $20.00 per person.  Tickets can be obtained from any Crop & Livestock director or at the Ransom County Extension Service office.

Nourishing Boomers and Beyond

Monthly sessions are available for adults age 50 and older looking for information and strategies to eat more nutritiously and be more physically active so they can reduce their risk of developing chronic disease. Sessions are beneficial to adults at any age. 

There is no charge for the sessions.  All sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Ransom County Courthouse and include informational material, recipes to take home and healthful food samples.

Heart - February 10, 2015

Finding the Truth about Nutrition/Health -  March TBA

The Ransom County Crop & Livestock Association supports  the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN) System located at the Lisbon Airport.  NDAWN Website is updated every 10 minutes.
