Prior to the meeting reports were given to the Association members by Duane Hauck, Director; Karen Zotz, NYFS Program Leader; and Virginia Clark-Johnson, Dean of HD&E.
Surveys were distributed to members from Gary Ligouri and Angie Milakovic.
President Ellen Bjelland called the meeting to order at 5:18 p.m.

Eunice Sahr moved, seconded by Sharon Kickertz-Gerbig, that we dispense with
reading the minutes, and approve them as submitted. Motion carried.
Rita Ussatis moved, seconded by Peggy Anderson, that we accept the Treasurer�s report as submitted and put on file for audit. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Awards/Recognition: Sharon Kickertz-Gerbig, Chair
Rita Ussatis received the Continued Excellence Award at the Association�s National Meeting. Sharon reported that there are changes in some of the Awards Programs. All applications are on the web. She strongly encouraged everyone to apply, if eligible.
Member Resources: Colleen Boerner, Chair
Colleen is resigning and will be replaced by Donna Bernhardt. We have two new members: Denise Kramer and Rebecca Berge-Buss.
Public Affairs: Eunice Sahr
Eunice reported on the web-based information resource for the �Living Well Campaign�. The Association is working on having Congress designate a �Living Well� week, in March, 2005. We will work on a State Declaration, and a state newspaper quarterly ad. We are encouraged to use the slogan on our programming.
The PLID Conference is April 17-20, 2005, in Washington, DC. Members are encouraged to attend.
Eunice shared applications for NEAFCS 2005 Mini Grants for Public Affairs or Professional Development.
Professional Development: Gail Slinde
A donation of $197.03 was made to help sponsor the �Building Strong Families� In-service held before our 2004 Spring Conference. No one had applied for the $200 professional development grant, so the money was used in this manner. A $200 professional development grant is available for members. Gail will email application forms to members.
4-H Foundation: Verona Lechler
Verona will be retiring in early 2005. She will attend the November 12th meeting in Carrington. Sue Isbell and Sheila VanderWal will serve as the new Association Representatives. Meetings are held in March, June and November.
ND STATE FAIR: Linda Hauge, Representative
No report as Linda was not present.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
People Pins: Sharon-Kickertz-Gerbig
We have a few pins left and they are no longer available. This has been a very successful fundraiser for our association. We should explore another idea. We have been able to support many positive projects because of these funds.
Membership Dues Increase: Ellen Bjelland and Vanessa Hoines
A $10 increase has been approved by the National Association. Dues will now be $62. Treasurer, Sue Fagerholt, will send out bills. There may be another increase next year to keep a balanced budget.
Members were encouraged to ask their county to add a line item for professional dues.
National Meeting:
A report was given by those who attended: Ellen Bjelland, Vanessa Hoines, Rita Ussatis, Eunice Sahr, Karla Monson, and Peggy Anderson. The 2005 National Meeting will be held in Philadelphia.
Discussion was held on helping the Florida Extension Staff who have suffered through the hurricanes. This will be discussed at the meeting of Association Leaders with Duane Hauck, scheduled in November.
No installation of new members was held, as members were not present.
Sharon Kickertz-Gerbig encouraged the Districts to take advantage of the one day allowed for Inservice.
Eunice Sahr reported on Parenting Resources Classes and the Extension Calendar Magnets done in the Nine-County Region.
Extension Director, Duane Hauck, will meet with the leaders of all Associations during the week of Thanksgiving, in Carrington.
Verona Loechler moved, seconded by Colleen Boerner, that we adjourn the meeting. Motion passed.
