The North Dakota Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi is pleased to continue to offer scholarship and grant opportunities. The criteria for each is listed below.

1. GRANTS: To be considered for a professional development grant, you must:

Be a current member (2008) of Epsilon Sigma Phi. Contact Rick Schmidt, Membership Chair, for membership information; rick.schmidt@ndsu.edu

Complete and return the APPLICATION FORM by March 15 of each year to Jackie Buckley, Morton County Extension Agent, 210, 2nd Ave NW, Mandan, ND 58554

2. SCHOLARSHIPS: The Chapter has scholarship funds available for NDSU Extension Service educators. Most of the funds available were donated in the honor of Arlyn Staroba and Bob and Brad Hughes. Applications can be made for any appropriate professional improvement or development activity. These activities include short-term graduate study, summer school, travel study, special seminars, and developing educational programs. No reimbursement is made if county or state reimbursement is provided for the activity. To be considered for a scholarship you must:

Have at least two years of Extension experience.

Complete an APPLICATION FORM and return by March 15 of each year to Jackie Buckley, Morton County Extension Agent, 210, 2nd Ave NW, Mandan, ND 58554

All grant and scholarship recipients will be selected by the ESP Scholarship Committee and funds will be distributed in the fall.

If for travel (group or individual) enclose a proposed itinerary along with a statement of the objective and purpose for the travel. If another type of activity, describe it in enough detail so the selection committee will understand the objectives and purpose of the activity. Indicate how you will evaluate the experience and report to the Epsilon Sigma Phi Scholarship Committee.
