Becky joined the NDSU Extension Service as an information specialist in Agriculture Communication in 1991 and now also has responsibilities as staff development specialist. She is involved in marketing efforts for Extension and initiated a staff committee responsible for development of advertisements. Her many information efforts have included collaborating to develop the Parenting the First Year newsletter, developing the media campaign for the Poverty Conference, and editing and promoting the weekly Parent Line column. She also took leadership for publishing and marketing a book of Parent Line columns. Becky devoted tremendous effort as coordinator of NDSU's efforts to provide information for people coping with the blizzards and floods of 1996-97. Due in large part to her efforts, the NDSU Flood Educational Team received the USDA Group Honor Award for Excellence. She is North Dakota's representative on the national Extension Disaster Education Network and serves as its marketing chair. As staff development specialist she has provided development and training through conferences, new staff orientation and a staff development Web site.
