Accomplishments and Contributions:

Hope Eppler is the administrative secretary for Extension nutrition, food safety and health programs. She makes numerous contributions to our programming. She has excellent layout/design technology skills and an academic marketing background, so our materials have a professional, high-quality appearance.

Hope has a complex job keeping up with multiple projects, many of them grant-funded. Not only does Hope help keep track of the expenditures from those funds, but she also has completed the layout/design work for educational pieces for the grants, including posters, table tents, displays and bookmarks. Hope also did the layout/design work on the "Teens Serving Food Safely" curriculum for high school students and the "On the Move" curriculum for fifth graders. Both curricula are being used statewide.

Besides these tasks, we have many ongoing tasks to balance. With more 60 people in the state doing food and nutrition programming, we have a very busy office keeping up with their requests. She maintains a lending library, she coordinates food safety workshops and she coordinates the process for nutrition labeling for food entrepreneurs statewide. All of these efforts involve record-keeping and mailing, faxing and emailing materials/answers.

Hope is an outstanding team player -- very conscientious and detail-oriented -- and despite many, many things on her plate, she maintains a great attitude. She works very well with work-study students and student interns, and she is able to prioritize her tasks so they are completed in a timely manner.

In summary, Hope does an excellent job and is a highly valued and respected member of the food and nutrition team.
