Jim had a long career with the Extension Service, including service as a county agent, as a radio and television specialist, and as director of the Agriculture Communication department. He has maintained close ties with extension and NDSU since retirement. As chair of the Epsilon Sigma Phi history committee, he was instrumental in developing a partnership with the Insitute for Regional Studies to serve as a repository for the Upsilon Chapter archives. He enrolled in Cass County*s pilot Master Internet Volunteer program in 1998 and has been an active MIV volunteer, teaching Internet technologies at the Fargo Senior Center. He is also active in other service and community activities, including the Fargo Senior Commission board.
