Sunflowers Response to Planting Date at Minot
The North Central Research/Extension Center has been conducting a planting date trial with sunflowers. The following information has been complied from 1989-93 across all hybrids in the trial.

| Mid May | 1632 | 31.3 | 41.5 |
| Early June | 1369 | 27.4 | 38.5 |
Mid-May plantings on average have yielded 260 lbs/A higher than June plantings. Also, quality factors such as test weight and oil percent have been considerably higher with May plantings.
