Safflower Storage For safe long-term storage, threshed seed should not exceed 8 percent moisture. Drying the seed can be accomplished following the same precautions and procedures as for sunflower. Drying temperatures should not exceed 110 F to ensure high oil yield and no seed damage. Harvesting at 12 percent seed moisture and drying with aeration if air temperature is warm and humidity is low results in the least harvest losses. Back to Safflower Menu |
