Alternaria Leaf and Head Blight and Bacterial Blight

SOME VARIETIES AVAILABLE FOR OUR AREA ARE TOLERANT TO THESE DISEASES

MORLIN: is a high linoleic oil type that has the best level of tolerance to these diseases and has good yield and oil content.

CENTENNIAL: is moderately tolerant to both diseases and has good yield and oil content.

FINCH: is tolerant to bacterial blight and has good yield and fair oil content.

MONTOLA 2001: is a high oleic oil variety that is moderately tolerant to both diseases and has moderately good yield and good oil content.

MONTOLA 2000: is a high oleic oil variety that is moderately susceptible to Alternaria and moderately susceptible to moderately tolerant to bacterial blight and has good yield and oil content.

S-541: is moderately susceptible both diseases and has very good yield and oil content.

S-208: is very susceptible to bacterial blight but when disease incidence is light, it will yield as well or better than other varieties.

S-317 and S-518: are high oleic oil varieties that are moderately susceptible to Alternaria and susceptible to bacterial blight; they have good yield and oil content.
