Pursuit in Alfalfa

Pursuit is labeled for postemergence application to seedling alfalfa in the second trifoliate stage or larger, to established alfalfa in the fall, to dormant or semi-dormant alfalfa (less than 3 inches of re-growth) in the spring, or between cuttings.

Pursuit should be applied at 0.75-1 oz ai/A plus liquid fertilizer in combination with non-ionic surfactant, organo-silicone adjuvant or crop oil concentrate. Recommended amounts of additives can be found on the Pursuit label. Pursuit rate should be selected based on the target weed species in the field and information on weed susceptibility on the Pursuit label. Do not feed, graze, or harvest alfalfa for 30 days after Pursuit application. Pursuit can be tank-mixed with 2,4-DB, Buctril, or Poast. Pursuit has a relatively long soil residual and rotational crop guidelines on the label should be followed. For example, wheat, alfalfa, and edible bean can be seeded 4 months after Pursuit application, field corn after 8.5 months, barley and oats after 18 months, flax and potato after 26 months, and canola, crambe, and sugarbeets after 40 months.
