Medic Varieties

'GEORGE' BLACK MEDIC:

Was released from Montana State University. It is considered a short lived perennial rather than the true annual types from Australia. It has a prostrate type growth habit which makes good choice for cover crop or for grazing.
Seeding Rate: Solid seeded: 8-10 lbs/A
Interseeded: 5-7 lbs/A

'SAVA' SNAIL MEDIC:

Is an Australian variety. It is considered a true annual. It has more of an upright growth habit which has the potential to be cut for hay. The seed is larger than the other types resulting in the seeding rate to be higher.
Seeding Rate: Solid seeded: 15-30 lbs/A
Interseeded: 8-20 lbs/A

'PARABINGA' BARREL MEDIC:

Is an Australian variety. Has lower moisture requirements than the snail medic. It has prostrate growth habit and uses are similar to black medic.
Seeding Rate: Solid seeded: 8-10 lbs/A
Interseeded: 5-7 lbs/A
