A firm seedbed is required. Sandy soils required packing. Loam soils may require packing. Seedbed should be clean and weed free.

PLANTING DATES

Plant early. Planting may begin as soon as established stands begin active growth in open areas. Planting may be made as late as the last week of July in northern areas and first week of August in southern areas, provided soil moisture is adequate for seed germination and root growth.
