Legume Inoculants

When choosing to grow legumes, the seed needs to be inoculated with the correct type of bacteria. The bacteria inoculant is needed in order to give the legume an opportunity to fix nitrogen for its nutritional needs. The following table lists the specific bacteria name and code (type) that is needed by legumes grown in North Dakota. Contact your legume seed distributor for inoculant supplies.
