Zinc Products

Zinc is available in both dry granular and liquid products. Dry granular zinc will be the lowest cost product available. The granule size and handling properties are similar to other dry fertilizer materials. The dry product is a hard prill mixture of zinc sulfate and zinc oxide with a total zinc analysis of 36%. Liquid zinc products are available as three different products, chelates, liquid zinc sulfate and an ammoniated zinc product with an analysis of 10-0-0-10Zn. The latter is available in bulk from local North Dakota manufacturers. Chelated zinc products use EDTA to increase the amount of zinc that can be solubilized. EDTA Zinc is selected because of its stability when formulated as a zinc salt across our normal ranges of soil pH. It is the most expensive source available and is usually purchased in a 5 gallon container. Liquid zinc sulfate is also normally purchased in 5 gallon containers.
