TIPS FOR BETTER CHEMICAL FALLOW Treat chemical fallow acres while weeds are small - about four inches tall or smaller. Treating larger weeds often requires more herbicides and may give less weed control than treating small weeds. Good water coverage of weeds will give better control and this means using 5-10 gallons of water per acre. Control drift both of water droplets and vapors. Soil temperatures in the summer can exceed 100 degree F. easily. Using ester formulations of 2,4-D or using Banvel, involves a risk of vapor drift for up to two days after application. Applying herbicides in light wind and temperatures under 75 degrees will reduce drift damage. Fallowmaster, Landmaster BW, Roundup Ultra, Glyphos, Roundup Ultra RT and Gramoxone Extra are non-selective herbicides that injure all plants. Back to Fallow Menu
