Seedbed for Buckwheat

Buckwheat is most easily established on a well-prepared, firm seedbed similar to that for flax. Late sowing may permit control of several weed flushes prior to seeding. Under good growing conditions, buckwheat will germinate and shade the ground quickly. A good stand is competitive and aids in weed control. There are not herbicides currently cleared for weed control in buckwheat.
