Pulse Day Set for July 7 in Minot

Plant breeding, weed control and diseases are among the topics at this year’s NDSU North Central Research Extension Center Pulse Day.

This year’s Pulse Day at North Dakota State University’s North Central Research Extension Center near Minot will be July 7.

The program will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Speakers and their topics include:

  • Kevin McPhee, an associate professor in NDSU’s Plant Sciences Department – pulse crop breeding
  • Brian Jenks, weed scientist at the North Central Research Extension Center – weed control in pulse crops
  • Rubella Goswami, an assistant professor in NDSU’s Plant Pathology Department – prevalent diseases in pulse crops

The program also will include Shannon Berndt of the Northern Pulse Growers Association and representatives of Premier Pulse International Inc., JM Grain and Dakota Dry Bean.

A lunch will be provided.
