Malanga and Bower Headline Farm Managers Meeting in Fargo Feb. 6
Vince Malanga, president and chief executive officer of LaSalle Economics Inc., New York, will present his global business outlook at the 98th annual meeting of the Northwest Farm Managers Association. The meeting is at the Fargo Holiday Inn on Feb. 6, starting at 9 a.m.
Also, James Bower, president of Bower Trading Inc., Lafayette, Ind., a nationally recognized leader in the futures and options industry, will present "Market Outlook for Soybeans, Corn and Wheat."
"Both speakers are well-recognized within the agricultural industry," says Andy Swenson, North Dakota State University Extension Service farm management specialist. "Malanga is widely quoted in the financial press and is a frequent speaker at seminars. Bower is serving his 21st year on the 'AgDay' television program as senior market analyst. He also is an expert on agricultural market globalization."
Other presentations are "Climate Impacts on Agriculture for 2007" by Dennis Todey. He is a climatologist for the South Dakota State University Extension Service and the state of South Dakota. Todey is a frequent speaker on long-range outlooks and climate trends.
Dale Enerson, North Dakota Farmers Union economist, and Nathan Clark, Chicago Climate Exchange economist, will discuss "Carbon Credits – Marketing a New Crop From the Farm." They will explain the concept of trading carbon credits and the process by which many North Dakotan producers are earning income from carbon credits. Also, the future of the Chicago Climate Exchange and how producers can benefit from it will be discussed.
