Haux Wins 4-H Round Robin Showmanship at N.D. State Fair

Mattea Haux won the 4-H senior round robin livestock showmanship competition Saturday, July 28, at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot.

Haux is a Cass 4-H member who advanced to the round robin competition after receiving the reserve champion placing in senior beef showmanship.

Stefanie Bohrer from Mercer County won the intermediate division and Samantha Lies, Ward County, won the junior division of the round robin competition. Reserve champions were senior, Wyatt Hansen, Ward County; intermediate, Nick Germann, Slope County; and junior, Shelby Hennessy, Ward County.

Champion and reserve champion show winners in beef, dairy, sheep and swine, and champions in meat and milk goat were eligible for the round robin. In the round robin competition, each had to rotate to show each of the five species to the judge. Senior show winners were 15 to 18 years old, intermediates 12 to 14 years old and juniors 8 to 11 years old.
