Thank you for your interest in our website ( http://www.ag.ndsu.edu ).  Please explore all the information it contains, we hope it will be of value to you.

Due to the overwhelming volume of E-Mail questions we receive each day it is impossible for us to keep up with the demand.  We certainly want to provide our citizens in North Dakota with quick and accurate responses.  Serving North Dakotans is our primary responsibility.  You can locate your local North Dakota NDSU Extension Service Office at: http://www.ag.ndsu.nodak.edu/directory/selcty.htm

There are extension agents and researchers in every state of the nation.  We are all part of the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES).  You may receive more detailed answers and information from your Local County Extension Agent for the reasons listed at the end of this page.

Contact the Cooperative Extension Service in your state for resources and answers to your questions by clicking on your state and then follow the links to the Cooperative Extension Service.  Many states have links to their respective county offices.  The CSREES Web address is: http://www.csrees.usda.gov/qlinks/partners/state_partners.html

Reasons you may receive more accurate and detailed answers for your specific questions:

  • Your local agent would have more information on the plant hardiness zone  where you live.
(Advice on growing something in  zone 3 would be much different than in zone 7.)
  • Plant and specific variety recommendations also depend on the zone for your area.
  • Many responses depend on the soil type, rainfall, topography, etc.  where you live.
  • Specific recommendations on herbicide use may depend on your state's pesticide laws.
