Fall Festival
A celebration of the start of the new 4-H year where we award leader pins, provide training and have fun activities.
4-H Activity Day
A multicounty one-day event where youth and adults can explore various topics related to 4-H and gain hands-on experience with new projects and ideas.
Communication Arts
Speech and demonstration contest where youth present information through visual medium for prizes. Contests are held at the club level. Blue ribbon winners may go on to a district event. Competition categories include the following:
- Demonstration
- Illustrated Talk
- Public Speaking
- Interpretive Reading - Humorous, Serious
- Dramatic Presentation
- Commercial
- Short Take
- Broadcasting
- Presentation Software
- Video Production
- Web Site Design
- 4-H Promotion
- Cloverbud Recitation (Noncompetitive recitation of national or 4-H pledge)

Consumer Choices
Consumer Choices is a contest where youth rank order consumer items based on a set of information given to them about the consumer product. The youth then defend their decision by giving reasons on why they placed the items in the order they selected. Consumer choices helps youth practice making decisions and matches their knowledge and skill against other youth. Contests are held at the local level and at the state fair. Youth compete in a Preteen and Teen categories.
Crop and Livestock Judging
Youth compete in local and regional crop and livestock judging contests. The county agent holds workouts with youth and most contests are held in January through March. The state contest is held in conjunction with the ND Winter Show. Members who do well have the opportunity to attend national contests.
