Horizons Phase III - 2008 - 2010

NDSU Extension is currently recruiting 15 new communities to be involved in Horizons - Phase III.  This phase begins in September 2008 and concludes in March 2010.  We are currently seeking communities that may be interested in participating in this exciting leadership program to reduce poverty. Communities participating must have less than 5000 in population and at least a 10% poverty rate according to the 2000 Census.  Information on your town can be found at: www.factfinder.census.gov

Communities interested must:

  • Complete the application form found here by September 15.
  • Hold a community meeting with NDSU Extension staff and at least 10 people from your town in August or September (please contact Lynette Flage at 701-265-5200 or Lynette.Flage@ndsu.edu to set this up).  This meeting will last approximately 1.5 hours and we will come to your community to better inform you of the program, the thresholds to be met and the benefits to you.

A brochure that further explains the program can be found here.

Additional information about the previous 21 Horizons communities can be reviewed through their stories told and published in a Horizons tabloid linked here.  Other stories of success can be found on the North Dakota Horizons blogs at www.northdakota.communityblogs.us

Thank you for your consideration in this exciting program.
