Partners in Horizons

The NDSU Extension Service is pleased to work with many partners in the Horizons program.  Besides the 23 community partners, NDSU Extension is supported by the Northwest Area Foundation financially and works with both the Study Circles Resource Center and Pew Partnership for curriculum and training.  To learn more about each of these partners, please follow the links to their websites.

Northwest Area Foundation

Within the Northwest Area Foundation, there are many great online, specific resources for communities.  A few are listed here:

  • NWAF Solutions Depot - www.nwaf-solutionsdepot.org - an online resource for community-focused poverty reduction and prosperity building.  Find how-to-guides, web-based calculators and analyzers, reports and studies, links to organizations and communities.

  • Indicators Website - www.indicators.nwaf.org - features the latest measures of population, unemployment, income, poverty, education and housing - 46 indicators in all.  Provides data on states, counties, selected communities and American Indian reservations in MN, IA, ND, SD, MT, ID, WA and OR.

  • Wage and Benefits Metric - http://jobmetric.nwaf.org - this web-based tool uses a point-scale system to evaluate jobs based on wage and benefit levels.  It is designed to help communities measure the quality of jobs that are or will be part of their local economy.
