The Parenting Resources Coordinator serves parents, grandparents, guardians, and childcare providers through educational classes offered throughout Grand Forks and neighboring counties.  The Parent Information Center is a partnership with NDSU Extension and Grand Forks Public Schools.  This partnership allows the Parenting Resources Coordinator to serve with greater effectiveness and gives access to multiple locations to hold classes.

Class topics include:

• Physical growth and development
• Raising responsible children
• Discipline with love
• Children with special needs
• Helping children control anger
• Parents as partners in education
• Divorce - keeping children out of the middle of conflict
• Circle of Parents discussion and support group

Most classes are free and all are open to the public.  Many classes are offered as a series that allows parents to form relationships with other parents.  The series classes often provide support and reinforcement throughout the change process as families move towards positive change using the knowledge gained in classes.  For class information or to receive a Parent Information Center newsletter, call 701-787-4216.
