Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program
Limited Resource Audience
I work with the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) which offers programming to lo
w-income adults with young children and to youth who live in rural or urban areas. Our main objective is to help our target population acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behaviors necessary for nutritionally sound diets and to contribute to their personal development and the improvements of total family diet and nutritional welfare.
Some of the programs that I offer are: menu planning using MyPyramid as a guide, food safety, working with dry beans, stretching your food dollar, the importance of hand-washing and feeding children (ideas for breakfast, snacks and calcium intake).
