Carrie Knutson, M.S. Extension Agent/4-H and Youth

I work with the 4-H program in Grand Forks County.  4-H is available in every county in North Dakota.  The 4-H program is offered as a youth Carrie Knutsondevelopment program through the North Dakota State University Extension Service.  4-H is a fun, learn by doing education program for young people.  The mission of 4-H is to create a supportive learning environment for youth and adults to reach their fullest potential as capable, competent and caring citizens.

4-H is a family friendly organization.  4-H is open to any youth ages 5-19.  Parents can also volunteer to help with events, become a club leader and serve as a resource for other clubs.  The 4-H program uses curriculum, events, programs, and activities that build life skills in youth.

A project is a special topic area that a 4-H member may enroll in and work on individually at home, with the assistance of adults or work on in a group when presented as a project lesson during a club meeting.  Project areas range from animal science, computers, baking and sewing to woodworking, welding and small engines.  There is a project area for everyone's interest.
