Crambe Fertility Management

Crambe's response to soil fertility is similar to that of small grain, mustard, and canola. A soil test should be conducted to determine the need for additional nutrients. About 5 pounds of nitrogen is required for each 100 pounds of seed yield per acre. Avoid using more than 10 pounds of actual nitrogen per acre and do not use urea with the seed as germination injury can occur. Crambe is generally responsive to phosphorus fertilization when soil levels are medium or less.
