National Impact of EFNEP 2011

Program Delivery & Evaluation
FNP Agents and Assistants primary responsibilities are teaching educational programs appropriate to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) project, recruiting participants and networking with appropriate community agencies/programs with a shared target audience. Each staff member is expected to conduct lessons in program focus areas and survey participants
History and Overview of SNAP and FNP
The objective of the Family Nutrition Program is to help SNAP participants and eligibles acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behavior necessary for maximizing limited resources to achieve nutritionally sound diets consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPlate.
Subject Matter & Educational Materials
Four “core elements” of SNAP-Ed programming are Dietary Quality, Food Purchasing, Food Security, and Food Safety.
Target Audience: SNAP Recipients & Eligibles
Nutrition education efforts target SNAP recipients/eligibles. Eligibility as a member of the target audience can be determined in the following ways:
