It’s an Internet-based way for people of all ages to learn more about nutrition, specifically fruits and vegetables.
You will learn more about fruits and vegetables.
You can improve your health and well-being.
You’ll get immediate feedback on how you’re doing.
It’s fun, easy and it won’t take a lot of your time.
You’ll be a “pioneer” as we pilot test this nutrition education program for North Dakota! (We especially thank you for that!)
First, we ask you to complete a “Background Survey”. We will use this information to make improvements to the program and to see how the participants did as a group. When you have finished, select “yes” you have completed the survey.
Each week, we will have a short “Mission” to read and some questions to complete based on the mission. Read the lesson carefully and answer the mission questions by clicking on your answer. You will receive immediate feedback on your answers. When you have completed the mission and questions, you will see a “check mark” on your home page.
Complete the trivia questions by clicking on “Trivia Time.” Answering the weekly trivia questions will require you to search some Web sites on the Internet. We’ll provide the link to the site.
The Cyber Challenge involves logging in for a couple minutes and filling out the daily fruit/vegetable checklists and your pedometer readings or minutes of activity. You will receive feedback on how you're doing related to the goal the next time you log in. As an option, we are providing a printable "Tracking Form." That way you can keep track of your fruits and vegetables and activity on paper and fill in the on-line checklists as you have time. The weekly missions and checklists will remain active for 10 days.
You will receive a couple short emails weekly with tips and recipes to consider and maybe some jokes, too!
After you complete Mission Seven, you will have conquered the Fruit and Vegetable Cyber Challenge! At the end, please fill out the “Post-survey” found under the “Lessons and Quizzes” section to the best of your ability.
Remember what you learned over the past seven weeks and put your knowledge into action this Spring!
