RICHLAND COUNTY

STAFF

Greetings from NDSU Extension Service/Richland County

Our county personnel would like to take a moment of your time to introduce themselves and highlight a few projects they are currently working on.

Dale Siebert is our Extension Agent/Cropping Systems and has been in Richland County for the past 13 1/2 years. Dale has 37 years of Extension experience in various North Dakota counties. Ongoing programs include small grain variety test plots, corn variety trials with the Richland County Corn Growers and working with researchers from NDSU on a variety of weed control test plots. Pesticide certification is another ongoing program.

Colleen Svingen is our Human Development Agent. Prior to working with extension, she was a Family Consumer Science teacher and school librarian. Colleen is always available for “help” calls and you can listen for Extension updates on KBMW on Wednesday mornings.

Elizabeth Freden is our Nutrition Education Agent for the Family Nutrition Program.

Adrian Biewer is our Extension Agent who coordinates the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Project in Richland County, which began in the fall of 2000. He began work at NDSU as a 4-H Specialist March 17, 2008. He will continue to act as coordinator of the afterschool program until June, 2008.

Our office is very fortunate to have great support staff. Deb Evenson is our Administrative Assistant, working with the budget, providing computer support, working extensively with 4-H, and is the web page master. Brenda Vertin is receptionist, provides support for the FNP, Pesticide Recertification Program, and 4-H enrollment program. The help of these two efficient support staff help to shorten our work days.

Our office is considering the development of a hard copy and electronic quarterly newsletter, including the posting of community education opportunities. e would appreciate your thoughts and ideas on these topics. We are open to any and all suggestions from the public. Please find our phone number, e-mail and web site addresses printed on the enclosure, or stop into our office and let us serve your needs.
