Encourage 4-H displays in rotunda during 4-H week. Dale mentioned that Sargent County
had a display of old 4-H memorabilia. A suggestion was made that clubs could get together and
put something together.

tentative. Joan will check on dates for the Armory. The Extension Office check to see if it could
be held in the basement of the LEC. It was also suggested that maybe vacant shops downtown

during Crazy Daze; have at the Breck Senior Center ($40 rental) and partner with Wilkin County.
Award Forms ready to send out. Deb will check with Print Shop to see if they can print up for us
instead of copying and stapling at the office.
NEW BUSINESS
Suggestions for next year's Achievement Day donation letters: Assign clubs to contact
businesses - local clubs contact local businesses - personal contact is better. July meeting - have list of businesses divided into communities for clubs to contact.
Achievement Days - It was reported that a good time was had by all. Thursday and Friday
worked out well for most. Maybe parents could help out in food stand.
Send thank yous to: Wyndmere Auto, Darcy Heitkamp, Wyndmere School, Wyndmere Fire
Department, Wyndmere Community Club, Jerome Lillestol.
4-H Building
Shawn Kessel, City Administrator, and Don Holen, County Commissioner talked to Dale about
the appearance of the 4-H building. They suggested the following should be done:
1. Rewrite lease to reflect current conditions - (use barn one day a year for 4-H activities -
as it was written in 1960). Right now building is used for camper and boat storage - that
generates $2,000/year income.
2. Clean up area around building and make repairs - doors. Rich Spellerberg had
volunteered to make metal 4-H sign for front of building. Green foundation needs paint. New
doors - big door $750, walk door - $139. Could easily spend $4,000 for repairs and clean up.
City will help with some of the clean up. At the present time 4-H spends about $100/year for
insurance and electricity. City could use part of it for special impound items.
Committee to meet with contractor regarding barn clean up and repair - Matt Danuser, Dale
Siebert, Rich Spellerberg. Motion was made and seconded to give committee permission to
move ahead whatever they feel is right to spend. A clean up day for 4-H clubs will be set in the
future. It was suggested to set up work day during 4-H week. It would have to be arranged to
have a loader come in prior to that to level ground. The question was asked whether the fee could
be upped for storing campers and boats? This will be looked into.
4-H Week - October 6-12
Monday night Oct 7 - electronic legos, Adventure Initiatives, GPS-Sharon Smith from Cass
County will be here. Gear it towards younger, newer kids. Maybe have at 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Open
House - supper will be served. Could be called "Glimpse of 4-H". Invite the 2 ambassadors from
Science School, Heather Young and other one.
Window display - Helping Hands will do a display again this year. What can we do to challenge
clubs to do displays? Clubs will be encouraged to do something because it is a special year for 4-H Flag will be put up at Town Centre Square or Daily News.
