RICHLAND COUNTY 4-H

Secretary's Report was read by Anita Onchuck and accepted as read.

Treasurer's Report was given by Gail Link, with a balance of $4,801.41

Old Business:

Rummage Sale: Discussion was held, should have posters up on when the bag sale will take place so people could come back if they are interested. Advertise the sale as a .50 sale unless otherwise marked. Should only have clothing at 50 cents. Extra shoes went to Guatemala, vases went to churches. Karen Weber moved to have Rummage Sale every year. Seconded by Tammy Miller. Motion passed.

4-H CD: CD was not checked into. Lesa will check into this. Gail Link moved to take $2,500 out of the CD and put into a short term CD. Seconded by Mary Mauch, that will give us accessibility to it when we need extra. Motion passed.

Achievement Days: Wyndmere Community Club will have to be asked every year to see if we are able to hold achievement days in Wyndmere. In 2001 there will only be a street dance on Friday. There will not be any advertising for 4-H. They will help us setup.

4-H and the Zoo: Being that we sponsor the petting zoo, Rhonda Weeda will check into getting prices and information on Question and Answer Plaques to be put up in the petting zoo. Discussion was held that we should use about $250.00 from the rummage sale income to cover the cost.

NEW BUSINESS:

Horse Show: Will be held July 30th at the sand hills in Hankinson starting at 10:00 am, potluck at 12:30.

Achievement Day Club Assignments: Put up posters saying that exhibits are to remain in place until 7:00 pm. and there will be no children or adults allowed in the Judging area. A Yearly Yearling bull class will be added this year and the recycle category was dropped will check into why this was dropped. Food stand Chairperson is still needed. Only 2 projects should be judged at a time, then the kids should go to the back of the line with the next 1 or 2 exhibits. Possibly changing Foods and Nutrition by sorting Teens and Preteens or by having Judges each give out a Grand and Reserve instead of combining to judge all food items. Deadline for Achievement Day Registration is July 31. There will be all Medals instead of trophies for awards day.

Linda's Replacement: Have 7 applicants, will check references. Hope to have position filled by September 1st.

NEXT MEETING: OCTOBER 22, AT 7:00, LEC.

Meeting adjourned

Respectfully submitted by

Anita Onchuck
