RICHLAND COUNTY 4-H LEADERS COUNCIL
JANUARY 27, 2003, 7:30 PM
LEC, WAHPETON
Richland County 4-H Leaders Council met on January 27, 2003, at the LEC. Matt Danuser,
President, opened the meeting with the pledges. Those attending were: Matt Danuser, Rich Spellerberg, Karen Weber, Sharon Ritten, Joan Beyer,
Dale and Colleen.
Old Business: Matt and Rich explained the 4-H building project. They received bids for the doors
from UBC. There will be a maintenance day in the spring for painting, cleaning, etc. Dale is
working on the lease with the city.
New Business: We talked about the raffle. Motion by Rich Spellerberg, seconded by Joan Beyer,
to have only one prize for the tickets. Motion carried.
We went over the dates set for activities:
Consumer Choices April 5 at LEC
Communication Arts April 12, District is on June 3 in Fargo
Rummage Sale May 9-10, with set up May 8
County Showcase June 30
Achievement Days August 7-8
Achievement Days was discussed. Hankinson would like to have us come there. Motion by Rich
Spellerberg, seconded by Karen Weber, to look at possibly changing Achievement Days to
Hankinson. Motion carried. Matt will explore this. Our choice of dates are: 1st - August 8 & 9; 2nd
- 15 & 16. Maybe the horse show could be at the same time.
A leader's training was discussed. This would be for leaders and parents. A tentative date of
March 17 from 6-9 p.m. was set for this round table discussion.
We have $1200 designated from United Way for a Family Health and Fitness Day. It was decided
to set this up for December of this year at the NDSCS Activities Building.
Matt and Rich will set up a trip to Fargo with $500 of United Way money. This will be like the
Twyla Gast trip.
Aerospace is on April 27-28.
The next meeting will be April 14, 2003, at 7:30 p.m.
