4-H LEADERS COUNCIL MEETING
Minutes of April 14, 2003
Meeting was called to order by President Matt Danuser at 7:40 pm at the
LEC in Wahpeton. Pledges were said.
Secretary�s report was read and approved.
Treasurer�s report - $6,853.38�balance on hand in checking account
Present were Sheree Foertsch, Julie Wahler, Karen Weber, Joan Beyer,
Rich Spellerberg, Matt Danuser, Colleen Svingen, Deb Evenson, Dale
Siebert, Glenora Arndt and Mary Kluge.
4-H building update was discussed. The order for the new doors will be
put in--Ryan Burchill, private contractor, will let us know when they come
in. Date for barn clean up - Saturday, May 10, 2:00 pm after Rummage Sale
clean-up. Jobs to be done are: painting, mowing and trimming, cut
shrubbery, get tree stumps out. Letter will be sent out informing members
of this work day. Chad Klosterman will make new metal "4-H" sign for the
barn.
4-H Building Lease--New and old leases were passed around. The changes
on the lease will have to be approved by the attorney. The payment
situation for the barn rental was brought up. Should probably be a
donation instead of a charge for barn rental.
Ag Trip--Dan Spellerberg is working on it. Rich will get us
information. Tabled until further notice.
Achievement Days�will be held in Hankinson on the south edge of town on
August 8 - 9. Statics will be held in the convent gymnasium and half of
barn for livestock show. There will be no cost to us. Town will have other
activities going on at the same time. Nate Falk and Roger Deinhart are
members of the Community Club in Hankinson and will work with us. Statics
will stay until Saturday afternoon after the livestock show.
Achievement Day Committee includes: Joan Beyer, Mary Lepp, Mary Mauch
and Matt Danuser.
Horse Show will be held at Sand Hills Chalet, either Friday, August 8,
or Saturday, August 9. Matt will call Lesa to see which day will work the
best for the horse club.
Rummage Sale--Set-up on Thursday - tables, racks. Those bringing items
to sale have to help set up - no buying until everything is set up. Sale
will run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday. Clean up from 1 to 2 on
Saturday. Committee for sale is Mary Mauch and Sheree Foertsch.
Communication Arts - May 22 - 6:00 pm - Wyndmere
Child Protection Update - everyone will have to be updated. There will
be a new video to view. This is for the protection of volunteers as well
as the youth. Be watching for update information.
State Fair Supplement - There was a question as to whether a Cloverbud
could show livestock at Achievement Days. Committee will look into that
question. Karen Weber would like to look at the State Fair Supplement to
suggest any changes for 2003.
Colleen mentioned it would be good to get some older youth on this
board.

Raffle drawing was held.
