The Big Data Pipeline Unit is a team affiliated with the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station (NDAES) at NDSU. The BDPU leverages the catalytic potential of analytic processes for agricultural research through advanced techniques in data management and agile analytics representative of the sophisticated phenotyping, genotyping, and high-speed computing critical to current agricultural research. The overarching goal is to expedite the use of databases and automation, equipping agricultural research and extension with the tools needed to make rapid, data-driven decisions.
Purpose of the Unit:
Serve as an analytics team focusing on agriculture within the NDAES and NDSU Ag Extension.
Provide insights and recommendations for optimal research data management and analytics practices.
Use advanced statistical, AI techniques, database technologies, and software engineering for data analysis, providing solutions for agriculture, food systems and natural resources.
Identify key performance indicators and trends for informed decision-making across the agricultural value chain.
Leverage expertise in data collection, analysis, and visualization.
