Short and Long Term Planning Prices

NDSU Extension Service marketing specialists and farm management specialists have just released a new bulletin titled “Plotting a Course 2010”.  The bulletin provides historic and projected planning prices for the most common crops and livestock in North Dakota.  The short term planning prices are best used for planning cash flows and single year budgets. For major capital investments in machinery producers should look at projected long term average prices.  The bulletin, which includes a 2010-2011 marketing year price of $6.20/bu for durum and $110/cwt for 500-600 lb steers, is available at the Burke County Extension office, ph. 377- 2927, or email me at dan.folske@ndsu.edu . Or find it online at: http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/pubs/agecon/market/ec1090.pdf
