What is 4-H?

4-H is...an informal leadership and educational youth organization.  It is open to everyone regardless of race, religion, color, gender, national origin, handicap or place of residence...

...so, it's a fun and exciting way to meet new people, try new things, and see new places with youth of all ages.

The 4-H Mission

4-H Youth Development education creates supportive learning environments for youth and adults to reach their fullest potential as capable, competent, and caring citizens.

The 4-H Pledge

I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living,
for my club, my community, my country, and my world.

The 4-H Purpose

The purpose of 4-H is to enable young people to acquire knowledge, develop life skills and form attitudes that enable them to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.

What Can You Do In 4-H

  • improve communication skills
  • show animals
  • learn to sew a quilt
  • bake a pie
  • meet new friends
  • work as a team
  • build a birdhouse
  • take a pretty picture
  • build a website
  • learn to fish
