About Equine Studies
Overview
The Equine Studies program at NDSU is relatively new, but it is part of an equestrian tradition that dates back to 1890. The program is offered by the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources through the Department of Animal Sciences.
The Equine Studies program offers a variety of options for students with an interest in horses, including a Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies as well as minors and certificates in both Equine Studies and Therapuetic Horsemanship. The B.S. degree is a four-year science-based program with plenty of hands-on activities and traditional classroom lectures. The minors are designed to complement any other major, and the certificate programs are designed for students who aren't pursuing a 4-year degree but would like to further their education.
