Using the Dial-Up Script
(click on pictures for larger image)
The dial-up
script is what assists your computer in completing the connection
when dialing up to the NDSU Extension modem pool. This script is
only needed when dialing the 800 number or the local extension
number. When dialing the NDSU ITS local number (8660) it is not
needed. Also, if you are using Windows 2000, you will need a special
script modified specifically for your use and will need to contact
the ACCS helpdesk for more information.
| To install, first right click on "My Network Places", and click
on "Properties". This should bring up the Network Connections
window like the one to the right. |
 |
| Next, right click
on the dial-up account you wish to use. In the menu, select
"Properties". You should now see a properties
screen like the one to the right. |
 |
To set up your script, now click on the "Security" tab. You
will then see a window similar to the one at the right. Near
the bottom, check the box next to "Run Script", and then click
on the "Browse" button to find where you saved the script file
to. (The script file is named ndsuext.scp). Select this script
file and then click OK. You can now exit all other windows, your
script has been installed.
