Goals and Major Activities
The Honor Commission is a student judicial
organization that oversees the Honor
System in the College of Agriculture,
Food Systems, and Natural Resources. The Honor
System is a method of student self-governing
for those enrolled in courses in the college.
Under the Honor System,
students sign an honor pledge; the responsibility
for proctoring examinations and quizzes lies
with the individuals enrolled in the course.
When a case of possible academic dishonesty
is reported, the Honor Commission meets to
review all pertinent evidence. If it determines
that a violation occurred, the commission
recommends disciplinary action.
Membership Requirements
The Honor Commission includes nine undergraduate
students and one graduate student enrolled
in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems,
and Natural Resources. Three members are selected
annually as freshmen by the existing commission
to serve for a three-year term beginning their
second year. The graduate student is selected
annually by the Commission.
How to Join
Freshmen enrolled in the College of Agriculture,
Food Systems, and Natural Resources are invited
to apply based on grade point average. Honor
Commission members are selected through an
interview process.
