Adding Images to Your Email Signature in MS Outlook

I had a few questions about how I added the Twitter, Google+ and Scoop.it icons and links to my email signature, so I decided to make a short screencast on how I did it.

Here's what my email signature looks like with the icons:

Each of the icons above the NDSU logo is linked to my account on that service. Including these in your email signature is a great way to highlight your social media efforts.

The first step is getting the icons you want to use in your signature. I found the Google + and Scoop.it icons on their websites, just like I did for the Pinterest icon in the video.

After you download the icon(s), you will need to crop and resize them using an image editor. I used MS Paint. I made each image square and resized them to approximately 40 px.

Next you will need to edit your signatures. I find the quickest way to get to the "Signatures and Stationary" window is to create a new email, then click the "Signatures" button at the top-center of your new email message.

Choose "Signatures" to enter the "Signatures and Stationary" window.

Click on an existing signature to edit or click the "New" button to create a new signature.

In the Edit Signature area at the bottom of the window, place the cursor at the point where you want to add an icon. Then click the "Insert Image" button, choose the correct file and click "OK" to insert it into your signature.

Finally, with the inserted image selected, click the "Add Link" button. Type the web address you want the icon to link to in the "Address" field. Click "OK" to complete the link.

Click the "OK" button at the bottom to save your signature. That's it. If anything is unclear, try watching the video instructions.
