Professional Development and Self-assessments

The NDSU Extension Service defines professional development as each employee's right to build discipline expertise, to enhance personal growth, to improve teaching abilities and to contribute to organizational development. It is the organization's responsibility to provide options and the employee's responsibility to INVEST in their development by participating in opportunities available.

Self-assessments

The 2011 Self-assessments for both subject matter and other topics are now available within the online course "Professional Development Self-assessment for NDSU Extension Service"

To login, enter "https://people.extension.org" in the OpenID field and use your NDSU email address and eXtension password. For step-by-step instructions (PDF), click here. If you have problems logging in, contact Bob Bertsch at (701) 231-7381 or Becky Koch at (701) 231-7875, not the NDSU ITS help desk.

Select self-assessments to complete in consultation with your District Director, and use the results to develop your Professional Development Plan.
