2009 Harvest Bowl Honorees recognized
October 25, Kent and Debbie Albers were recognized as Oliver County Harvest Bowl honorees during the NDSU Harvest Bowl. The NDSU Harvest Bowl program recognizes the success, dedication and hard work of outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and several in Minnesota. Highlights of the event included a Harvest Bowl dinner and awards ceremony and attending the Harvest Bowl football game. Kent and Debbie are pictured below with D.C. Coston, NDSU Vice President for Agriculture and University Extension.
NDSU Harvest Bowl Honorees from Oliver County, Center, ND are Kent and Debbie Albers.
In partnership with their sons, they raise small grains, sunflowers, and hay using minimum and no-till. They also background calves and had a swine operation. They received the Soil Conservation District Achievement Award and were named Master Pork Producers. Kent graduated from NDSU and was Ag Coalition president. He serves as a county commissioner, Soil Conservation Service director, Farm Credit Services Board, and is active in South West Pork Producers and the rural fire department. Debbie is a past 4-H club leader and American Cancer Society volunteer. Kent and Debbie have three children and are active in their church.
