Mark received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from North Dakota State University. He began working for NDSU as a research specialist for the soybean breeding program in 1988. He then worked seven years as the agronomic manager for the Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) project at the Kellogg Biological Station near Richland, MI. This was a collaborative research effort involving multiple disciplines at Michigan State University and the National Science Foundation where a range of crops and cropping systems were evaluated.
Mark rejoined NDSU in April 1999 as an agronomist at the NCREC where he works closely with geneticists, plant pathologists, cropping systems specialists, soil scientists, integrated pest management specialists, and others to help producers and agricultural industries of this region. He is a member of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America and the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee.
