First Ag CMS Site Goes Live
On June 1, 2009 the Ag Content Management System (Ag CMS) reached a milestone when the Williams County Extension website went "live," becoming available to the public at www.ag.ndsu.edu/williamscountyextension.
The Ag CMS is a web-based application that NDSU Agriculture & University Extension faculty and staff can use to create, maintain and manage web-based information.
This system was rapidly deployed, going from a test environment to live in three short months. The initial Ag CMS test server was launched on March 4, 2009. By April 15 a production server was available, allowing users to begin developing web content. Ag CMS training began on April 20.
To date 36 sites have been created in the Ag CMS and more than 80 people have attended Ag CMS training.
You can learn more about the Ag CMS by reading New Tool for Building Web Pages on the blog, The Winnowing Oar.
