4-H...a Great Organization to Belong To

4-H provides hands-on, real life experiences through projects, activities, and events. Our program is available to all youth in the county. 4-H is the largest and the only research based youth organization in the state.

4-H AGE

September 1 is the starting date for ages and events related to the 4-H program. Any youth who is 5 years old before September 1, but not 19 before September 1 is eligible to join a 4-H club.
Cloverbud

– is a non-competitive youth program designed for 5, 6 & year olds.  Members must be five before September 1 to participate. The program emphasizes helping youth to explore, develop and learn while having fun in an informal environment. They are not eligible to participate in district or state contests.

Preteen

– a 4-H member who is 8-12 years old before September 1 will participate in the preteen division.

Teen

– a 4-H member who is 13-18 before September 1 will participate in the teen division.

YEAR COMPLETION

Each 4-Her in order to complete the 4-H year must attend at least five (5) meetings and/or judging workouts and exhibit at Achievement Days, Communication Arts, 4-H Showcase or attend any 4-H county, district or state contest.

DRESS CODE

All members participating in 4-H competitive events (except Clothing Revue) will be neatly dressed and must wear a solid-colored white, yellow, gray or green shirt/blouse with the 4-H emblem prominently displayed and securely fastened on the front. The shirt may not have other info on it.

Dark jeans/slacks/skirt are preferred.

ENROLLMENT FORM

Enrollment forms are due in the Extension Office by November 1 to be on the current mailing list. New members can register past the November 1 date.
